Hope or Wish

Day3

Week 6

Hebrews 6

“So that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this hope as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, which enters the Inner Place behind the veil. This is where Jesus has entered for us as a forerunner, since He has become the everlasting High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Hope or Wish

Hope-

to want something to happen or to be true, and usually have a good reason to think that it might.

Bible hope-

a feeling of expectation, desire and trust which produces confidence.️

Wish-

a desire or hope for something to happen.

Do you hope or wish that your prayers will be answered?

Bible hope produces confident trust and assurance in the fact that God can not lie. He gave us a promise and a vow as strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

Not a wish, but Bible hope.

Jesus sealed the deal! He blazed the trail being the first everlasting High Priest.

We are also royal priests who are to serve here on earth leading others to salvation.

We have this Bible hope as a sure and steadfast promise. An anchor for our soul.️

Faith is the substance of things hoped for!

Not wished for.

There will be no evidence of things not seen if we are merely wishing.

Hold fast to the hope that Jesus paid for! ️

Confident trust and assurance.

He will hold you fast when you stop looking at your situation and start looking at Him.

We need to stop leaning on our own understanding!

His timing is perfect.

Action Step

Listen to this hymn. It is one of my favorites.️
