Day5
1 Samuel 19
Week33
“Then Saul sent messengers to take David, but when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying and Samuel taking his stand over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul and they also prophesied. When it was reported to Saul, he sent other messengers. And they also prophesied. So Saul sent messengers again a third time, and they too prophesied. Then he also went to Ramah and came to the great well that is in Seku. And he asked and said, “Where are Samuel and David?” And one said, “They are at Naioth in Ramah. He went there to Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God came upon him also. And he went on and he prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah. He stripped off his clothes and he also prophesied before Samuel. And he lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, “Is Saul also among the prophets?””

Holy Spirit
Are you anxious today?
Are you feeling stress, worry or fear?
David was running for his life, literally.
The enemy of our soul can make us feel like we are running for our lives, but Holy Spirit protects, restores and strengthens us, if we let Him.
Saul rejected God’s will for him over and over and over. He refused to humble himself before God.
Pride focuses on “I” while humility focuses on others.
Sometimes we suffer needlessly because our focus is on ourself and how we feel and how we are affected by our circumstances.
I’m Guilty! What about you?
If we humble ourselves by letting go of control, then we can surrender to God in humility and receive relief from Holy Spirit.
Saul forced God’s hand and was humbled under the power of Holy Spirit.
He was stripped of his dignity and his throne, but it didn’t have to be that way. He chose to go his own way.
Jesus sent us Holy Spirit as our comforter, teacher, and friend. He has made His power available to us through the baptism of Holy Spirit with the gift of speaking in tongues.
(Acts 2:1-4; 1 Corinthians 14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-11)
All we have to do surrender and receive His gift just like we did to receive salvation.
Action Step
Have you received the baptism of Holy Spirit with the gift of speaking in tongues?
If you’re answer is no, pray and ask God for it.
If you’re answer is yes, use your gift daily, even though out your day and see how much better you feel and how much more you are focused on loving others.
