Day5
Week7
1 Samuel
“His daughter-in-law, Phinehas’ wife, was pregnant. When she heard the news that the ark of God had been captured and her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she went into labor prematurely and gave birth to a son. As she was dying, the women helping her said, “Don’t be afraid. You’ve given birth to a son.” But she didn’t answer or pay attention. She called the boy Ichabod [No Glory], saying, “Israel’s glory is gone,” because the ark of God had been captured and because her father-in-law and her husband ⌞died⌟. “Israel’s glory is gone because the ark of God has been captured,” she said.”
1 Samuel 4:19-22 GW

Has The Glory Left?
I can’t help but wonder about Phineas’ wife.
Her response to the tragic news about her family paled in comparison to the news of the Ark of the Covenant being captured.
She was stricken with grief, but the breaking point was the loss of the presence of God. The shame of Israel, her people.
That news killed her.
I wonder has the glory left from your life?
Have the cares of this world snuffed out the glory of God in your heart?
The wife of Phineas, like Eli, must have went along with the ways of her husband or the story would have a different ending.
God is merciful and long suffering.
Are we going along with the ways of this world?
He said, “Fear not! Or Be not afraid!” 103 times in the KJV of the Bible.
Moreover, fear is discussed 500 times.
Unlike in Eli’s and Phineas wife’s day, we have been given direct access to the glory of God through Christ Jesus!
If the glory of God feels
Distant or even absent from your life,
remember that Jesus said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
Action Step

Why do you think that is?
Possible causes;
Lies from the enemy,
Disobedience,
Focusing on Cares of the world…..
