Grip Of Sin

Day4

Week18

2 Samuel

“When she brought them close for him to eat, he took hold of her and said, “Come, lie with me, my sister.” She pled with him, “No, my brother, do not violate me, for such a thing is not to be done in Israel. Do not carry out this awful thing. As for me, where could I escape my disgrace? And you would be like one of the fools in Israel. Now, please speak to the king, for he will not withhold me from you.” But he refused to listen to her. So, being stronger than her, he overpowered her and lay with her.”

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭13‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Grip Of Sin

Reason cannot loose the grip of sin. Once the fierce talons of sin have taken hold, only Jesus has the power to release it.

It is so important that we examine ourselves daily so that we keep our hearts pure.

The slightest bit of gray area in our lives can quickly become a stronghold.

Action Step

Holy Spirit, please guard our hearts and minds from the subtle schemes of the enemy.

“Be sober and watchful, because your adversary the devil walks around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him firmly in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭MEV‬‬
