Day1

Week28

1Samuel 17

“Then a champion named Goliath, from Gath, came out from the Philistine camp. He was nine feet, nine inches tall and wore a bronze helmet and bronze scale armor that weighed one hundred twenty-five pounds. There was bronze armor on his shins, and a bronze javelin was slung between his shoulders. His spear shaft was like a weaver’s beam, and the iron point of his spear weighed fifteen pounds. In addition, a shield-bearer was walking in front of him.”

Giant Problems

Are you looking at your problems through the lens of fear?

The average height of a middle eastern male in Biblical times was 5’-5’3”.

If the champion, Goliath were only 6’5”, he would have seemed to be a giant to the average soldier in Israel's’ army, with the exception of Saul who was head and shoulders taller than the others.(1Samuel 9:2)

The text goes to great lengths in painting a picture of Goliath’s weapons, not a lot about his size.

Goliath is referred to being a champion warrior, not a giant.

The enemy was very experienced in battle and had superior weapons.

Most of us look at our circumstances and compare it against our lack of ability, experience, supply….

Sound familiar?

These verses are focusing on the enemy.

We are supposed to focus on our God.

Every problem looks bigger when you focus on it.

As we go through this weeks lessons, we will begin to see the impact our vision has on our outcomes.

Action Step

Do you have a clear view of your desired outcome?

What is blocking your view?
