Forbidden Fruit

From the beginning of mankind forbidden fruit has enticed us. It is no different today.

Have you ever wanted something that was forbidden fruit? Maybe something that belonged to another or something that you were told you couldn’t have?

I think we can all relate to that experience at least a little bit.

What gets us into trouble is when we fix our eyes on the forbidden fruit. The lust of the eyes is powerful. One thing leads to another and our hearts become obsessed with what our eyes have been tempted with.

Amnon focused his attention on his half-sister to the point of feeling ill. Would you agree that is obsessed?

Back in Genesis God told Cain that sin is crouching at the door and its desire is to dominate you, but you must rule over it.

What are you focusing your attention on?

It is very easy to focus on the trial we are in or the fear of what’s going on in the world.

Set your mind on things above. Colossians 3:2

Where our eyes go our heart will follow.

Action Step

Look up!

Set your mind on Jesus and worship Him.

Set an alarm on your phone for mid- morning and afternoon to remind you to look up and pray.
