For Or Against
Mercy comes in all forms, all shapes and all sizes. Mercy can be found in a friend and at times, even an enemy.
According to Jewish tradition, the Moabites killed both of David’s parents after agreeing to take care of them while David was running from Saul.
David was merciful to his enemy by allowing them to choose if they were for or against him. He could have annihilated them all, but he allowed 1/3 of them to live and dwell with them. The Moabites became slaves to Israel and brought tribute to David.
We were enemies of God, but in His mercy we get to choose if we are for or against Him through accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We serve Him and offer tribute through praise and worship.
God could have wiped us all out, but instead He gave us a chance for redemption.
