Day1
Week25
2 Samuel
““Therefore my advice is for all of Israel, from Dan to Beer-sheba, to be completely gathered to you like the multitude of the sand along the shoreline and for you to go to battle in person. We will come upon him in one of the places where he may be found, and we will fall upon him like the dew upon the ground. Neither he nor any of the men who are with him will remain, not a single one. If he withdraws into a city, then all of Israel will bring ropes to that city. We will raze it until it is a valley, until there cannot be found there even a pebble.” Then Absalom and all of the men of Israel said, “The advice of Hushai the Arkite is better than the advice of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had decided to undermine the prudent advice of Ahithophel, so that the Lord might bring calamity to Absalom.”

Foolish Things
Have you ever spent an unreasonable amount of time on a particular detail only to discover in the end that it really didn’t matter?
The foolish things that we get distracted by can seem so important in the moment.
God chose the foolish things of the world to confuse the wise…1 Corinthians 1:27-31.
Absalom was so distracted by eagerness and greed that he could not see the difference between foolish and wise advice. In this case, God himself confused Absalom and his advisers to work out His own purpose.
God’s ways are not like our ways. In order to understand and trust God, we must spend time with Him and in His Word.
Distractions are all around us and sometimes they seem like wisdom. The only way to know the difference is to take the advice of Jesus in John 15:7.
“If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it shall be done for you.”
John 15:7 MEV
