Fix Your Eyes On After
Warning #4 Failing To Endure
Endurance-the ability to withstand hardship or adversity;
especially : the ability to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity.
(A marathon runner's endurance.)
Faith- the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
Patience- confident expectation based on faith in what God has said in His Word.
What promise are you waiting for?
Does it seem like a marathon?
There is a vast difference between simple “endurance” and “patient endurance”.
Patient endurance requires that you fix your eyes on after the finish line.
Faith is the substance and the evidence.
What are you focusing on?Are your eyes fixed on the race or the after.
The author is warning ️ us that it is possible to fail in the faith arena.
How do you run a marathon?
You might say, “training or diet” and you would be correct, but the simplest answer is one stride at a time.
Fix your eyes on after, but simply put one foot in front of the other and confidently expect God to provide the strength for the next stride.
Focus on Him. You are in “patient-endurance”training right now in the middle of your marathon.
Remember the rock?
The solid foundation you built on? Jesus.
Prepare through prayer and thanksgiving for the fulfillment of the promise.
Make sure you maintain a healthy diet of the meat and water of His Word and the refreshing, life giving breath from prayer in the Holy Spirit.
Action Step
Slow down and take a few deep breaths.
Release any tension you are carrying.
Give yourself permission to simply be with God and enjoy His presence.
The God who created you wants all of you. Be honest with God about your race.
Come as you are, with all that you are and simply worship Him.
