First Time

Day5

Week6

1 Samuel

“Then Eli called Samuel. “Samuel, my son!” he said. “Here I am,” he responded. “What did the Lord tell you?” he asked. “Please don’t hide anything from me. May God strike you dead if you hide anything he told you from me.” So Samuel told Eli everything. Eli replied, “He is the Lord. May he do what he thinks is right.” Samuel grew up. The Lord was with him and didn’t let any of his words go unfulfilled. All Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew Samuel was the Lord’s appointed prophet. The Lord continued to appear in Shiloh, since the Lord revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh through the Lord’s word. And Samuel spoke to all Israel.”

First Time

Do you remember the first time you began to understand God’s Word in your personal life?

A time when you knew it wasn’t just about rituals or traditions, but Jesus was real and He knew you?

Imagine if He chose to speak to you with terrible news about someone you loved.

Imagine how that would feel.

Do you think it would have been easier to tell if it were good news?

My gut reaction to that question is yes, of course.

The thing is, we all have been called to tell the good news about Jesus and His soon return.

Has that been easy?

Let’s not get so busy working for God that we lose sight of our true purpose.

Your true purpose is knowing Him, worshiping Him, and working with Him.(not for Him)

Holy Spirit will lead you to the right people at the right time. Love them by showing kindness and generosity.

Action Step

Ask God to enlarge your heart for people.

Example prayer:

Oh Father, I love you. I know you love all people. Please forgive me for not loving them. Fill me with love for all people. Make my heart soft and humble.

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord and show me how to love the lost people of this world. Help me to freely receive this new love and freely give it to all. Praise You, Jesus my Lord. Amen
