Day3
Week22
2 Samuel
“A messenger came to David and said, “The hearts of the men of Israel are following Absalom.” David said to all of his servants who were with him in Jerusalem, “Get up. We must flee or there will be no escape from Absalom for us. Hurry up and leave, or he will soon reach us and bring disaster upon us, striking the city with the edge of the sword.””

Fear Makes A Poor Master
Have you ever panicked before praying and asking God how to handle a situation?
Fear makes a poor master and David bowed down to it. He did not consult the Lord in this situation. He chose to lead his men by running away and hiding.
Have you ever stuck your head in the sand so to speak in a situation?
I know I have. I wouldn’t recommend it. I have found from personal experience that fear makes a poor master. Avoidance can be just as dangerous as a hasty decision.
No matter how bad it looks, we must learn not to be moved by what we see. Faith doesn’t look at circumstances, but rather the word of God. No matter what you are facing, pray and read God’s word to find an answer to stand on before making a decision.
Action Step
Ask God to open your understanding as you spend time with Him today.
God, I ask for protection over my heart. I want to be willing to let go of things that are not Your will for me so that I can make room for the things that You do have prepared for me. Guard me from any thoughts, relationships, or beliefs that are not from You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
