Day1
1 Samuel 19
Week33
“And Saul spoke to Jonathan, his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David. But Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted very much in David. Jonathan told David, saying, “My father Saul seeks to kill you. Therefore, be on guard in the morning; stay in a secret place and hide yourself. And I
will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are. Then I will speak about you to my father, and what I observe I will report to you.” Jonathan spoke positively of David to Saul his father and said to him, “Do not let the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his deeds have been very good toward you. For he took his life in his hand and struck down the Philistine, and the Lord made a great salvation for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Now why then would you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without cause?” So Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan and Saul vowed, “As the Lord lives, he will not be killed.” Jonathan called David, and Jonathan reported to him all these words. Then Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as previously.”

Favor
Have you ever stuck your neck out for a friend?
Has anyone helped you unexpectedly?
That is considered unmerited favor or grace.
David went about his life minding his own business faithfully performing his duties, honoring God with his ordinary life tasks. He did not ask for favor.
God was responsible for the favor on David’s life.
David did not try to earn God’s favor. He simply loved God and lived a life honoring the one he loved.
God is faithful to His loved ones and He takes care of His sheep.
No need to spin in agony and get caught up in worry and fear.
Favor will show up when you need it without even knowing that you needed it! That is God’s favor! No strings and no striving to get it.
Our job is to love God because He loved us. Love is the power source.
Action Step
How much time do you spend with the ones you love?
What about the amount of time you spend doing things for them?
Consider how that compares to your time with God.
We all fall short.
That is not the measure that God uses.
Add God into your daily activities by talking about Him to your loved ones and co workers.
Be faithful in your daily activities and thank God for all you have.
Your Good Shepherd will see that you have Favor even when you don’t know you need it.
