1 Samuel 16
“Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, “Send me David your son, who is with the sheep.” Jesse took a donkey laden with bread, a bottle of wine, and a young goat and he sent them with his son David to Saul. David came to Saul, and stood before him. And Saul loved him greatly and he became his armor bearer. Saul sent to Jesse, saying, “Let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight.””

Favor
David honored God in all his ways and now God was honoring him.
Favor can be interpreted grace. We can not earn Gods’ favor. He chooses whom He will.
We can however live a life worthy of our calling by making wise choices that are honoring to God simply because we love Him.
God promises that the righteous will not be forsaken.
In this way we can set ourselves up for promotion by living righteously.
Remember that David remained faithful even when he was falsely accused.
Jesus remained faithful throughout His persecution.
Humility comes before promotion and favor.
Action Step
Trust God and surrender control to Him.
He is faithful!
