Why did Paul ask them to pray that God would rescue them from evil and wicked people?
Is God faithful?
We oftentimes forget that we have a part to play. Our most important part is prayer.
James 4:2
You have not because you ask not.
Think of a car parked in your garage.
You have faith that it is there. Most likely you have faith that it will turn on and you believe it has the capacity to take you where you want to go.
The car is faithful.
However, you won’t arrive at your destination if you don’t put gas in it. You also have to start the ignition.
After that you have to put it in gear.
The car doesn’t arrive at your destination by itself does it?
Does that mean that the car is not faithful?
Paul is asking for his partners or other members of the body of Christ to add fuel to the tank, start the ignition and put the car in gear.
God designed us to work together.
Praying without selfish motives for the purpose of spreading the Gospel and adding souls to the Kingdom is our primary concern.
God is faithful!
Seek first His Kingdom and then all things will be added to you.
