Compassion

Jesus said, "I have compassion on the crowd..”

He has compassion on the people and on His disciples.

The people were beyond hungry after 3 days listening to Jesus preach in the wilderness and the disciples were not asking the right questions and apparently had forgotten the previous miracle

feeding of the crowd.

Are we asking the right questions?

In 2 Kings 4:42, Elisha is in the same predicament as Jesus.

Elisha told the man to give the food to the people and let them eat.

The man said, “How can this little bit feed so many?”

Elisha answered, “Give the food to the people and let them eat for thus says the Lord, “They will eat and have some left.”

Look it up and see what happens.

We always want to know how.

Faith doesn’t know, it just goes!

In His compassion, Jesus asked them, “How many do you have?”

He gave thanks and He broke them.

( a broken and contrite spirit God is close to.. Psalm 51:17 and Psalm 147:3 God heals the broken)

Are we broken before Him?

Do you feel like you have nothing?

Give yourself to Him and be multiplied.

The multiplication happens in the obedience.

The disciples obeyed and started passing out the little that they had and the supply never ran out. There were seven baskets of broken pieces left!

The miracle happens after the obedience.

What is Jesus , in His compassion, waiting on you to do?

Faith doesn’t know, it just goes!
