How is your lamp?

I can relate to Eli’s vision growing dim as I have progressed from reading glasses into progressive lenses needed all the time.

Thank God for corrective lenses!

Focus on your spiritual lenses or eyes.

Are they growing dim?

As we are already in the Advent season- 11/24-12/24 or Sunday, November 27-Sunday 11/18, a four week preparation for the celebration of the birth of our messiah (Jesus), which is a time of fasting, prayer and reflection and centers around lighting a candle for each week.

The first represents Isaiah and other prophets in the Bible that predicted the coming of Jesus.

The second represents the Bible.

The third represents Mary, the mother of Jesus. The fourth represents John the Baptist, Jesus' cousin, who told the people in Israel to get ready for Jesus' teaching.

Samuel lived in the temple and slept where the Ark of God was.

He would have been partially responsible for keeping the candle lit.

We are partially responsible for keeping our candle lit

I say partially because God provides the spark ️ when we are born again and it is our job to fan into flames the gifts He has provided us with.

(2Timothy 1:6)

Our current culture is attempting to snuff out our flames.

Weather or not you usually celebrate Advent-(the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event),

It is always appropriate to search your heart and remove any behaviors or attitudes that might extinguish your flame.

Action Step

Fan into flames the gifts that God has given you by reading and studying His Word

Prepare the way for His soon coming.

How is your lamp?
