Eyes On The Prize
Imagine moving your family to a foreign country. A country at war with yours with different customs and a different language.
This is what David chose to do. He didn’t consult God. He made a decision from exhaustion and fear.
Have you ever done that?
God did not leave David even when he chose to take matters into his own hands.
God doesn’t leave us either. God is faithful.
David kept his eyes on the prize. Even though he retreated into enemy territory, he continued to make preparations for the future promise of his kingship by acquiring land that God had promised to his people and utterly destroying peoples who had sinned against God and refused to leave their sinful lifestyles.
Are you making preparations for your future? Are your eyes on the prize?
What has God promised you?
Are you believing for healing, restoration, financial stability, emotional or mental health….?
Keep your eyes on the prize. Jesus is the prize. All things will be added unto you after you seek Him.
David was in the enemy camp for a year and 4 months before he received the prize of kingship.
Rather than worry about how long, focus on who,(Jesus), and use your time wisely by preparing for the prize, whatever your need is, get ready and act as if you already have it.
David was acting as leader in Ziklag. He was ruling his followers and building his empire while he was waiting.
