Day4
Week 8
Hebrews 8
”But God revealed the defect and limitation of the first when he said to his people, “Look! The day will come, declares the Lord, when I will satisfy the people of Israel and Judah by giving them a new covenant. It will be an entirely different covenant than the one I made with their fathers when I led them by my hand out of Egypt. For they did not remain faithful to my covenant, so I rejected them, says the Lord God.“

Entirely Different
Have you ever longed for change?
It could be that you long for a change in your routine or your circumstances, something entirely different from the seemingly hum drum rut of your life.
This promised, new covenant was entirely different from anything they had known.
The old covenant required them to be faithful and to keep offering sacrifices again and again, knowing that their forefathers had not been successful and repeatedly failed their end of the bargain.
This fresh, new covenant is entirely different in that it does not depend on us.
Thank God!
Jesus made the ultimate, perfect sacrifice that broke the cycle of sin forever!
The new covenant of salvation is based entirely on the finished work of Jesus.
We did nothing, can do nothing and are not required to do anything except receive the beautiful gift of salvation.
Our unfaithfulness does not change the covenant because we did not receive it for being faithful.
We receive it because of Love.
Action Step
If you feel hum drum, spend some time right now receiving love from Your Father, who is Love.
Thank Him for loving you, just the way you are today, in this moment.
Spend the day thanking Him for each little thing in your life.
You can start by leaving a comment telling the group one Simple ordinary thing that you are thankful for.
