Day4
Week3
1 Samuel
““The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up. The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. He raises up the poor out of the dust and lifts up the oppressed from the dunghill to make them sit with princes and inherit a throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth belong to the Lord, and He has set the world upon them.”
1 Samuel 2:6-8 MEV

Dunghill
Are you discouraged today?
Sometimes when we lose focus, it can seem like our life isn’t amounting to much or maybe things just aren’t going our way.
I think we can all agree that we have never sought comfort from a dunghill( a pile of poop).
Hannah sings this song of praise to God in a time when there were certain instances where medicinally the only comfort or relief was to sit in a pile of dung(poop).
Hannah sings about how God restores from even the lowest position, a poop hill, to a position sitting with Kings.
If you are discouraged today, consider thanking God that you were born in a time of modern medicine !
We all have been rescued from our sin( a poop pile)!
God has not forgotten you! Just like Hannah waited for her relief, you may have to wait.
Why not flip your focus and rather than thinking about your poop pile, think about the goodness of God and what He has already done for you!
Action Step:
Sing praises to God and thank Him for what you are waiting for
