Don't Push Your Luck

Day4

1Samuel 29

Week 46

“Then Achish called David and said to him, “As the Lord lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the camp has been pleasing in my sight. For I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. However, you are not acceptable in the eyes of the Lords. Therefore now, return and go in peace, that you do not displease the Lords of the Philistines.””

Don’t Push Your Luck

Have you ever had a guest who overstayed their welcome?

In modern times the king basically told David, “Don’t push your luck!” Or “Get while the gettin’s good!”

Sometimes God will provide a way out for us simply by ending a relationship or a job or moving us out of a situation.

We don’t always recognize mercy in that form.

Is there an area that you feel a tug to release?

Maybe you have been given an opportunity to step down and it feels like rejection.

Could it be mercy?

Action Step

Thank God for His mercy and ask Him to be obvious with you about any area that He may be trying to deliver you.

Take some time to listen for His answer.
