Does Your Faith Look Like That?

Day2

Week2

1 Samuel

“No, I'm not drunk, sir,” she answered. “I haven't been drinking! I am desperate, and I have been praying, pouring out my troubles to the Lord. Don't think I am a worthless woman. I have been praying like this because I'm so miserable.” “Go in peace,” Eli said, “and may the God of Israel give you what you have asked him for.” “May you always think kindly of me,” she replied. Then she went away, ate some food, and was no longer sad.”

Does Your Faith Look Like That?

I am reminded of Jude1:3; earnestly contend for the faith that was given to the saint’s (Christ follower’s).

Hannah poured out her heart to God. She faced ridicule from the prophet Eli , but she didn’t give up. She defended herself and Eli declared over her that God give her what she was asking for!

Have you ever went in a prayer line and poured out your heart? After you were finished praying, were you fully persuaded that God answered your request? What about if your pastor spoke a word of knowledge to you?

Hannah took Eli at his word as a spokesman for her God.

She was so full of faith that her very appearance changed. She was joyful and she ate.

Her persecution didn’t end. Nothing in her life changed, but she changed. She believed! Her faith changed. She flipped her focus and dropped anchor in the hope of her promise.

Action Step:
