Dissension

Day2

Week18

1Samuel 12

“Behold, here I am. Witness against me before the Lord and before His anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Or whose donkey have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or from whose hand have I received any bribe to blind my eyes with? Indeed I will restore it you.” They said, “You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us. Neither have you taken anything from any man’s hand.” He said to them, “The Lord is witness against you, and His anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand.” And they answered, “He is witness.””

Dissension

Everyone has an opinion.

We all think ours' is right.

Samuel was setting himself up in the eyes of the people with proof of his innocence and anointing.

Samuel thought that this was his farewell address.

He wanted the people to be united together with Saul as their king and with God before he left the earth.

Is there any dissension in your home?

Between relatives?

What about at work?

At church?

A house divided against itself can not stand.

Action Step

Search your heart and ask God if you’re relying on your own opinion in a matter or His will.

Make peace with anyone that you disagree with and walk in love.

What’s more important?
