Day2
Week12
1Samuel 8
“And it came about when Samuel was old, that he installed his sons as judges for Israel. Now the name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second son was Abijah. They were judging in Beersheba. But his sons did not walk in his way, for they followed after unlawful gain, and they took bribes, and they perverted justice.”

Did You Ask?
I find it interesting that Samuel appointed his son’s as judges. Remember the disaster that Samuel witnessed with Eli’s son’s?
Why do we so easily disqualify ourselves from error?
We think things like,
“That won’t happen to me.” Or,
“I am better than that, I can handle it.” Or,
“I can fix it.” Or,
“My kids won’t fall into that, I raised them better.”
Does any of that sound familiar?
We judge those who went before us, but how are we any different?
Did you ask God for His opinion?
If you did, did you obey His answer?
Are you constantly trying to fix your family and no matter how hard you try, they keep making the same mistakes?
Or maybe it’s you who is spinning on the hamster’s wheel?
Can I ask you this, “Did you ask?”
Did you ask God if you were supposed to fix it?
Did you ask God What His choice is in the matter?
God chooses who he chooses for His purpose and that purpose ultimately benefits all His people.
Not asking is the same as not obeying.
In ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight. Proverbs 3:6
Action Step
Ask God!
You know the questions that you have been trying to answer.
Ask God!
Who is His choice to help you?
What are you supposed to do in the situation?
Are you supposed to intervene at all?
You know, just
Ask Him!
