Day3
Week18
2 Samuel
“Then David sent word to Tamar at the house, “Please go to the house of Amnon your brother, and prepare food for him.” So Tamar went to the house of Amnon her brother, where he was lying. She took the dough, kneaded it, and made the cakes before him. Then she baked them. Then she took the baking tray and served the cakes to him, but he refused to eat. Amnon said, “Send everyone away.” So they all left him. Then Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the bedroom that I may eat from your hand.” So Tamar took the cakes that she had made and brought them in the bedroom to Amnon her brother.”

Dedicated Obedience
Tamar displays a beautiful, dedicated obedience to her father David.
Did you obey your parents like that growing up?
Today, we rarely see that kind of blind obedience in our culture. Most of the time an order or request is answered by a question or complaint.
Our Heavenly Father expects us to trust Him and live that out with dedicated obedience.
Do you trust like that?
Would you agree that we can all stand to work on that?
Delayed obedience is actually disobedience.
Complaining or questioning God is what got the Israelites into trouble in the wilderness.
Action Step
Examine your motives and ask Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see where you stand in this.
We have a good Father who can be trusted.
