2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
“Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition), [Dan. 7:25; 8:25; I Tim. 4:1.] Who opposes and exalts himself so proudly and insolently against and over all that is called God or that is worshiped, [even to his actually] taking his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming that he himself is God. [Ezek. 28:2; Dan. 11:36, 37.]”

Deception
The funny thing about deception is that when you are deceived you can not see that you are.
Your vision is clouded or completely blocked to the truth.
We can not continue to pretend that we are immune to deception.
These verses remind us that there WILL be a great falling away of Christians who once believed.
How can we be sure that we will not be deceived?
I wish I could give you a simple get out of jail free card. I can’t.
Jesus commanded us to pray so that we would not fall into temptation or ( deception)Mark 14:38.
Why is this so hard for us?
Check out your prayer life.
Not your list of demands or begging.
Recently I challenged us to set a timer for 5 minutes and pray. I challenged us to do that for 3 days.
How did you do?
I lasted 2 days.
I hear-by reissue this challenge. Do it for the next 5 days or longer if you can.

How can we be sure that we will not be deceived?
The easy answer is that it depends on you.
Only you can prepare your heart and renew your mind.
Jesus has already given us everything!
We have His power of attorney to use His name in every situation.
We have access to His mind and way of thinking by (2 Corinthians 10:5..) casting down imaginations and our own thoughts and choosing to renew our mind with His Word.
Holy Spirit lives on the inside of every born again believer.
It is completely up to us what we nourish on.
Be careful little eyes what you see,
Be careful little ears what you hear,
Be very careful little mouth what you say!
Proverbs 4:23-27
“Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you. Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you.
