Crippled By Fear

Day2

Week7

2 Samuel

”Now the son of Saul had two men who were leaders of raiding bands. The name of one was Baanah and the name of the other Rekab, both sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, from among the sons of Benjamin. Now Beeroth is also regarded as part of Benjamin, because the Beerothites fled to Gittaim and have been sojourners there until this day. Now Jonathan the son of Saul had a son with crippled feet. He was five years old when the report of Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel. His nurse picked him up and fled, but in her haste to escape, he fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth.“

Crippled By Fear

Saul’s legacy started off with him hiding from his inauguration in fear and continues after his death with his two remaining sons.

Ishbosheth, the king of Israel is hiding in bed and Mephibosheth was crippled by fear as an infant and apparently is still in hiding for fear that he may be killed because he was rightfully next in line for the throne.

Have you ever been crippled by fear in your life?

Have you ever been hurt by a loved one or close friend?

As Christ followers we also have a target on our heads. The enemy of our soul is looking for opportunities to steal, kill and destroy us.

John 10:10.

Unlike the house of Saul, we have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7.
