P. Is for Preparation
For the next 4 weeks we will be doing a deep dive into prayer.
1 John 5:14-15
“Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we ask anything agreeable to his will, he will hear us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have obtained the requests we ask of him.”

Confidence
What do we have confidence in?
Ourselves?
Other people?
Our Pastor?
Maybe, but John is talking about a greater confidence. He is referring to confidence in our eternity with God. Security in our salvation.
Since we have this confidence, we can pray boldly knowing that God hears us.
Preparation of our soul, through surrendering our will for His will has given us confidence that our prayers are in line with His will.
Surrender is not just something we do 1 time and done.
We have to prepare our mind, will and emotions daily and sometimes by the moment.
With this confidence we can boldly go before the throne and knowing that we are asking in alignment with His will we do not have to beg, but simply thank Him and praise Him.
Preparation makes way for gratitude which leads to adoration and praise.
Action Step:
Have you asked God if you are in alignment with His will?
His will is His Word.
Surrender some time today and pick up your Bible, open it and allow God to speak to you.
Do what He says quickly.
