Day1
Week21
1Samuel 14
“Then Jonathan said, “Now we will cross over to these men, and we will reveal ourselves to them. If they say to us, ‘Wait until we come to you,’ then we will stand still in our place, and we will not go up to them. But if they say, ‘Come up to us,’ then we will go up, for the Lord has delivered them into our hand, and this will be a sign to us.” So the two of them revealed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines. And the Philistines said, “Look, the Hebrews are coming out of the caves where they have hidden themselves.” The men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armor bearer, and said, “Come up to us, and we will teach you something.” So Jonathan said to his armor bearer, “Come up after me. For the Lord has delivered them into the hand of Israel.””

Chosen
Jonathan was the son of Saul. So far as we have been studying, Saul has not shown himself to be a great example for Jonathan.
How is it that Jonathan has a different heart and a different perspective of God than his father Saul?
Have you ever felt God lead you away from your family or their views?
Do you feel different from others?
God chooses whom ever He wants to.
Sometimes our life will be much different than those around us. God may see something in you that you don’t see.
Jonathan took action. He stepped out in faith to see if God was with him.
Do you need to step out and see?
Nothing good happens from hiding in a cave.
Jonathan had a sword and armor just like his father, but he chose to use what God gave him.
What do you have in your hand that maybe others don’t have?
Will you use it for God’s glory?
Action Step
Ask God to show you what you have and how to use it?
We are chosen
