Day4

Week24

2 Samuel

“Ahithophel also said to Absalom, “Let me choose twelve thousand men so that I may arise and pursue David tonight. I will overtake him while he is weary and weak and strike him with terror; all of the people who are with him will flee. Then I will strike only the king, and I will return all of the people to you. When all return except the man whom you are seeking, all of the people will be at peace.” The advice pleased Absalom and all of the elders of Israel.”

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭17‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Casualties

The advice given to Absalom sounded good. Strike only the king, but there are always casualties of war. It is rarely ever only the intended target that gets hurt.

Consider your own life and think about some life choices that you made where someone else suffered.

Maybe a divorce, or a harsh word intended for one , but heard by another or gossip overheard.

Whatever the case, there is usually casualties other than what was intended.

Action Step

Ask Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth. Whoever needs wisdom, let him ask God.

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

PSALMS 18:30 MEV

Think about some of the ways God has protected you.

Then, take a moment to praise God for all He has done.
