Day1
Week20
2 Samuel
“Then the woman said, “Allow your servant to speak a word to my Lord the king.” So he said, “Speak.” The woman said, “Why have you planned like this against the people of God? The king’s speaking this word is like a self-conviction, for the king has not brought back his own banished one. We will surely die and are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not take away a life; He devises plans so that His banished ones will not be cast out from Him.”
2 Samuel 14:12-14 MEV

Cast Away
Do you feel cast away? Perhaps from a family member or even from society.
We all were once cast away from God because of sin.
David’s life has so many parallels to God’s ultimate salvation plan for mankind.
Yes, David is an imperfect human king. We can relate to his choices on some level because we have made similar choices in our own lives.
Studying his life is like having a mirror abruptly placed in front of us.
Our merciful Father devised a plan from the beginning of time to restore the cast away. Jesus is that plan.
As we study, Holy Spirit holds up the mirror and offers us a choice. We can accept the truth, repent, receive Jesus as Lord and Savior and be restored or we can push the mirror away, refuse to deal with our shortcomings and be eternally cast away.
Jesus is a perfect king. His judgement is perfect, unflawed by sin or corruption.
🪞Look and see. Allow Jesus to restore you today.
Action Step
Pray like this when you are ready:
God, I confess I often do all the talking, and I don't always expect or listen for an answer.
Thank you for always paying attention, always listening, and always ready to respond and give guidance. Speak, Lord, Your servant is listening. Please give me ears to hear what You are saying. Amen.
