Day4
Mark15:46-47
“Joseph purchased a shroud of fine linen and took the body down from the cross. Then he wrapped it in the linen shroud and placed it in a tomb quarried from out of the rock. Then they rolled a large stone over the entrance to seal the tomb. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph were there and saw exactly where they laid the body of Jesus.”

Carved Out
Joseph of Arimathia most likely, being a wealthy man, paid a great price to have this tomb carved out of this large boulder. It would have been carved out by hand with hand held tools. I am sure he hired someone who did this professionally. He probably wanted a nice place to be laid after his own death. Scripture tells us that he waited for the Kingdom of God, but he still prepared for his own death.
Joseph carved out a place to rest. He prepared for his future. He paid for this place to rest.
When we prepare for our future, we have peace of mind. Weather it is carving out some money and putting it in savings or investments or planning our schedule in advance, this preparation lets us rest peacefully because we have a plan.
Joseph offered his savings in the form of his tomb to Jesus. He sacrificed what he had prepared or carved out for himself and gave it to Jesus.
Are you giving like that?
Are you carving out time in your life for prayer, Bible study, church attendance, praise and worship?
Are you carving out time for conversation with Jesus?
Prayer is preparation!
What are you carving today?
Give and it shall be given to you pressed down shaken together and running over.Luke 6:38
