“Say to Amasa, ‘Are you not my bone and my flesh? May God do to me, and more so, if you are not commander of the army before me from now on in the place of Joab.’ ” He swayed the heart of every man of Judah as though they were one man, and they sent a message to the king: “Return, you and all of your servants.” So the king returned and came as far as the Jordan, and Judah came to Gilgal to meet the king and bring the king across the Jordan.”

Build Bridges
David could have overtaken Jerusalem by force and took back his throne, but he chose to build bridges with the people of Israel and unite the kingdom in peace.🕊️
Have you ever bullied your way through a situation? It’s my way or the highway, right?
We are again seeing the character of Jesus show out in David. Anyone can use force to get what they want. It takes wisdom, patience and humility to build bridges.
Jesus could have used force to regain His Kingdom. The Jews were expecting Him to do that, but He trusted His Father’s authority and chose to build a bridge between heaven and earth .
Have you decided to walk across that bridge?
