Be Ready

Day2

Mark 14:38-40

“Keep awake and watch and pray [constantly], that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again and prayed, saying the same words. And again He came back and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy; and they did not know what answer to give Him.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭14:38-40‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Be ready

Be alert and pray continually! How is that even possible?

Our physical bodies are weak and feeble not to mention our wandering minds.

I can not imagine being the disciples in the garden that night. They had been up all night celebrating Passover followed by Jesus teaching them and warning them, predicting scary things to come. John chapters 13-17 all happened before they went to the garden.

That was a long sermon!

They had been up all night!

Jesus had been predicting His death to them for a while. They had no idea that it was about to be a reality.

It is the same today for us! Paul tells us to pray always (Ephesians 6:18)

We do not know when trouble will come. We do not know when Jesus will come back.

We have the Holy Spirit in us to help us pray, to teach us to pray and to pray for us through the gift of tongues.

The disciples were caught sleeping instead of praying. They did not know how to answer Jesus or should I say they had no excuses.

Will you be caught sleeping?

Temptations are everywhere. Our only defense is through prayer.

There are many ways to pray.

Speaking, singing, writing, thinking…. We need to learn to pray and do it!

We will be tempted, that is a fact. Stop trying to avoid the battle. Simply learn to fight! Punch back with verses of scripture about your situation. Study Ephesians 6:10-20 Put on your whole armor and…

Let’s get ready to rumble!!
