Day3
Week23
1Samuel 15
“SAMUEL TOLD Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint you king over His people Israel. Now listen and heed the words of the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts, I have considered and will punish what Amalek did to Israel, how he set himself against him in the way when [Israel] came out of Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek and utterly destroy all they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.”

Avenger
Even the women, children and animals?
Some would challenge the justice of God.
In order to understand this we must go back in history.
Amalekites-these people were completely evil. They practiced all kinds of sexual immorality including but not limited to sex between human and animals. They sacrificed themselves and their children sexually and to death. They had completely given themselves over to the lust of the flesh. They had no moral code, no sense of right or wrong. They were a cunning and cruel race of people.
They attacked the Israelites, unprovoked from behind as they were coming out of Egypt. Remember when Moses became week and they had to help him hold his hands up to win the battle?
That was this unprovoked attack.
God declared that He would utterly destroy them and the time has come in our passage today.
Evil has a way of spreading rapidly and so the threat of sin spreading through His people corrupting them would not be tolerated by God.
There is only one cure for the flesh. Kill it.
Paul told the Colossians, Galatians and Ephesians that they must die to their flesh. If you live by the flesh you will die, but if you live by the spirit you will live.
He used phrases such as, crucify your sinful lusts, put to death whatever belonged to the earthly nature, those who are sexually impure or covetous shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Sin is serious! It is a matter of life or death. God in His mercy, allows sin to go on for a certain period to give opportunity for repentance and forgiveness.
Only God determines the timeline and He warns that if you continually choose your flesh over Him, eventually he will turn you over to a reprobate mind.
God always avenges His Children.
