Week 3
Day4
P.R.A.Y.
A is for Adjustment
This is our third week taking a deep dive into prayer.
Romans 12:9-18
9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Attitude Adjustment
Wow! These verses make me tired just thinking about all the adjusting I need to do….
Do you feel that way?
The idea here is not to focus on ourselves, but to understand that we need Jesus to make adjustments.
Verse 12 says to rejoice in hope. If you hope for something, it has not yet happened. We are not without hope
Prayer or communion with God prepares us for growth. He adjusts our hearts and guides us to make wise choices.
Our attitude is definitely our choice, but when we rejoice and praise Him, we invite His presence and the all encompassing love felt in fellowship with Him changes our focus.
Action Step:
Rejoice because you are never without hope!
Relax in His presence and allow Holy Spirit to adjust your attitude.
