Day1
Biblical Fasting
5 Steps For Success
Step1
“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces so they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you will not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
Matthew 6:16-18 MEV

Another Seed
What do Moses, Elijah, Esther, Daniel and Jesus have in common?
The Bible tells us that they all fasted. They had various needs, but each of them sowed another seed into their spiritual lives.
Fasting is sowing a seed into our spiritual life. The very name of our group is Seed 4 Your Soul.
Biblical Fasting is a spiritual exercise.
Biblical Fasting is a willingness to separate oneself from the things of this world and solely focus on the Lord.
Physical exercise benefits the body, spiritual exercise, like fasting, benefits our spirit and soul.
Biblical Fasting opens the door to greater revelation through Holy Spirit and puts one in a position to receive from God spiritually.
Biblical Fasting or sowing another seed takes preparation.
A farmer prepares the soul before planting and we should prepare or hearts and our schedules before we plant spiritual seeds as well.
Prayer is an important component to fasting.
You may remember the series on prayer we did a year ago.

Yearning
Praying is the foundation in preparing for a Biblical fast.
Preparation provides us with confidence, boldness, faith and authority.
Step 1.
Don’t Rush In.
Clear your schedule as much as possible.
-Of course you can pray and fast while you do other things, but the idea is to spend time with God.
Try not to add anything extra to your schedule during your fast. The less distractions the better.
Action Step
Please comment if you are willing to join me next week for a corporate fast.
As we study about fasting this week you will learn the different types of fasting and be able to choose what is best for you.
The idea is to join together for a common purpose, not to fast exactly the same way.
The purpose of our fast is for wisdom, understanding, revelation knowledge and direction for this group.
Will you join me?
