An Open Door
The name Judas leaves a sour taste in my mouth. This name has become interchangeable with betrayer.
Are we really that much different from the disciple who betrayed Jesus?
It is easy to judge him, but
think about what had just happened with the expensive perfume that was poured out on Jesus. Judas was very upset about this. He disagreed with Jesus. He thought the money would be better used serving the poor, or for his own selfish motives.
Now clear your mind of all you’ve been taught about this scene.
Have you ever disagreed with something your pastor did or said? With something your boss or a coworker did or said?
Did you talk about it with another or others?
Did you keep thinking about it?
By doing this, it opens the door for the devil to enter in.
It is unclear whether Jesus was anointed by a woman on more than one occasion. In studying this, I found many opinions, but no definitive answer.
I believe that Jesus was anointed by at least two different women on two different occasions. Once with tears and perfume at His feet and another time with perfume over His head.
Study it out for yourself and ask God.
My point is that Judas was upset and he kept thinking about it and talking about it. He allowed doubt and disbelief to enter in.
What we think about and absolutely what we talk about does make a difference!
Talk to Jesus about your concerns. Find scripture to back up your opinion and keep your mouth out of it. Trust God to handle it. If you can’t find at least 2 scriptures to base your opinion on, then you are in error and you need to let it go!
Are you opening a door for the enemy?
If you have, no worries just ask forgiveness and make it right.
Judas opened the door and let the enemy in by thinking and talking negatively about Jesus decisions and others.
He held on to bitterness and anger to the point he missed out on asking for and receiving forgiveness.
It is not to late for us.
Let us shut the door of our mouth and open the door of our heart.
