Day4
Week19
1Samuel 13
“Jonathan attacked and killed the Philistine governor stationed at Geba (Gibeah). When the Philistines heard the news, they raised the alarm: “The Hebrews are in revolt!” Saul ordered the reveille trumpets blown throughout the land. The word went out all over Israel, “Saul has killed the Philistine governor—drawn first blood! The Philistines are stirred up and mad as hornets!” Summoned, the army came to Saul at Gilgal. The Philistines rallied their forces to fight Israel: three companies of chariots, six companies of cavalry, and so many infantry they looked like sand on the seashore. They went up into the hills and set up camp at Micmash, east of Beth Aven.”

An Army Of Lies
Have you ever stepped out in faith? Maybe you left your job for a new opportunity or sowed a financial seed emptying your bank account or even talked to the stranger ahead of you in the checkout line.
How did you feel?
Most of the time we feel fear in those circumstances.
Did things improve immediately?
Most of the time, in my experience; the immediate response is that things start to look worse.
This is where we find the Israelites in today’s story, only they didn’t choose to walk by faith. The King they wanted so badly made that choice for them.
Be careful what you wish for!
Fear makes a terrible king!
Walking by faith doesn’t mean the absence of fear. It simply means that you trust God to be faithful more than you trust the enemy to make good on his promises of “what ifs”.
When things get worse after you put your faith in God and step out on the water, remember to keep your eyes on Jesus and His promises found in His Word
Do not give in to Fear which is false evidence. Fear blurs your vision to the truth.
The enemy always over plays his hand.
If things look hopeless, hold on because you are about to ride the waves of victory if you don’t lose heart.
Action Step
Has fear been taking you for a rocky ride?
Stop!
As Holy Spirit filled Christ followers, we are to use fear as a thermometer.
When fear turns up the temperature, it is an indicator that God is on the move in your life!
Flip your focus and turn up your faith by drawing closer to God. Focus on a faith filled scripture verse and let the temperature rise!
