Cross references
2 Samuel 2:8
All Night
Have you ever been up all night?
Did you have insomnia or was it intentional?
These men had suffered a great loss of fellow comrades and were marching homeward to their families. They were grieving, exhausted and defeated.
Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by your circumstances that you couldn’t sleep and found it hard to get through the day?
Abner’s men kept going because they had “home” to look forward to.
…Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before Him…Hebrews 12:2.
What do you have to look forward to?
We have the same hope that Jesus has! We share equally with Him. Ephesians 3:6-7.
We must fix our eyes on the joy set before us. Just like the soldiers, we have “ home” to look forward to.
Action Step
”Ah Lord God! Truly, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm, and there is nothing too hard for You.“
Jeremiah 32:17 MEV
Lift your hands to Him and let go of the overwhelm, the stress, the unrest, whatever it is….
Reread the above verse and let it sink in.
Meditate on it throughout your day today.
