Day4
Week2
1 Samuel
“The time came again for Elkanah and his family to go to Shiloh and offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and the special sacrifice he had promised. But this time Hannah did not go. She told her husband, “As soon as the child is weaned, I will take him to the house of the Lord, where he will stay all his life.” Elkanah answered, “All right, do whatever you think best; stay at home until you have weaned him. And may the Lord make your promise come true.” So Hannah stayed at home and nursed her child.”

Agreement
Hannah had made a vow to God, but in order for her vow to be valid her husband had to also agree to it.
Imagine how Elkanah felt hearing that Hannah had vowed to give their first born son and only son to God.
A son in that day was highly regarded. They would be a great help in farming, thus providing income, not to mention that Elkanah loved Hannah and this was his son from the woman he loved.
Elkanah agreed to the vow that Hannah made before the Lord. This was a great sacrifice for both of them.
Jesus said, “Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them. [Exod. 3:14.]”AMPC
Elkanah and Hannah were in agreement.
Unity is very important to God. Especially between husband and wife. God intended for the two to become one, be in union together.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me all you who labor and are under heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your soul. My yoke is easy and my burden is light.
A yoke brings two into union working together as one.
This is true of the church as well. We are the Bride of Christ.
In order to be in agreement with Jesus, we have to know what He says.
How can we know what He says?
“My sheep know my voice.” Jesus said.
His voice is His Word.
His Spirit lives inside us.
Read His Word and His Spirit will bare witness with yours.
Action Step:
Is there anything you have read in His Word that you don’t agree with?
Ask Jesus to open up your understanding and give you revelation knowledge according to Ephesians 1.
Come into agreement with Jesus.
Find a spiritually like minded person to agree with in prayer.
If you are married, come into agreement with your spouse.
If not, ask God to show you who you can pray with or just agree with Jesus.
