Day2
Week28
2 Samuel
“Then Joab came to the king in his house and said, “Today you have shamed the faces of all of your servants who saved your life today, as well as the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines, by loving those who hated you and hating those who love you. You have shown today that commanders and servants are nothing to you. I know that if Absalom were alive instead today and all of us were dead, then this would be right in your eyes. Now go out and speak reassuringly to your servants, for I swear by the Lord that if you do not go out, no man will stay with you this night, and this will be worse for you than any calamity that has come against you from your youth until now.” So the king arose and took his seat in the gate, and the people were all told, “Behold, the king is sitting in the gate.” So all the people came before the king, but the Israelites had fled, each to his tent.”

A Time For Mourning
David allowed himself to be consumed with grief. There is a time for mourning, but responsibility doesn’t just cease to exist during those times.
Have you ever lost a loved one? I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose a child at any age, but especially a grown child that you have cared for raised and were on bad terms with.
God experiences this grief everyday as his people die daily due to lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6
Our God understands grief and every other emotion we experience. Jesus experienced them all.
We are not alone in our suffering.
Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4
Action Step
Call on Him in your time of need. He is waiting to lift you up.
God, You see those who mourn, and You promise to comfort them. Please bring healing to my heart when I grieve. Give me hope when I'm feeling hopeless , and strength to carry on with my responsibilities when I’m feeling overwhelmed.
Show me how close You are in the midst of my mourning. In Jesus' name, Amen.
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will continually be in my mouth.
My soul will make its boast in the Lord; the humble will hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.
PSALMS 34:1-3 MEV
Consider what it means to bless God at all times.
After you've done this, spend some time praising the name of the Lord right now.
