Week 13

Hebrews 11

”By faith Sarah herself also received the ability to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, who was as good as dead, sprang so many, a multitude as the stars of the sky and innumerable as the sand by the seashore.“

A Picture

When is the last time that you planned a vacation?

Did you look at pictures of different destinations to decide where you wanted to go?

Chances are, you checked out different hotels and compared amenities.

A picture is worth a thousand words as the saying goes.

God gave Sarah a picture of faith to look at every day and every night.

Sarah did not start out with great faith. She laughed at the idea of a late in life child.

God provided the stars and the sand of the dessert as a visual representation of the promise He made. He gave Abram and Sarai a picture of faith to remind them of all the offspring that He would bring forth through them.

God does not leave us without a picture for our faith.

What has He promised you through His Word?

Find a picture to represent that promise.

A year ago at Christmas my family was separated.

I put up a picture of my husband and my children together on my vision board and every time I looked at it I prayed and thanked God for restoring relationships.

This year at Christmas we were all together at my house.

Our brain sees in pictures. Think about when you hear the word dog.

Do you see “d-o-g” in your mind or do you see an image of a dog?

Words are powerful, but adding pictures to the promises is even better.

Action Step

Are you believing God for something?

Find a picture and look at it as you pray and thank God for delivering your promise!
