Day1
Week23
1Samuel 14
“The people said to Saul, “Will Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? God forbid. As the Lord lives, there will not one hair of his head fall to the ground. For he has worked with God this day.” So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die. Then Saul went up from following the Philistines, and the Philistines went to their own place.”

A Little Fox
Did you notice how the Philistines, who were filled with fear and confusion, at the brink of destruction by the hand of God are now safe at home and Saul gave up his pursuit.
Little things can have great impact.
Have you ever heard the saying, “A Little Fox Spoils The Vine”?
The choices that both Saul and Jonathan made out of pride seemed little and insignificant at the time, but those choices caused Israel years of trouble.
Had Saul put God first and consulted Him and gave the honor and glory to God, the Philistines would have been destroyed along with their oppression and conflict.
A little fox of pride kept an entire nation under bondage for years.
Jonathan started out on a faith journey and God was with him.
One small, rebellious prideful outburst and his life is on the line.
God doesn’t have strict laws because He is mean.
He knows how the little foxes, or comprises that we make will set us up to be devoured by our enemy.
God is merciful and full of compassion! He loves us and makes a way for us even when we mess up.
