A Character Flaw

In the end, David took 8 wives. This was an eastern custom that many Israelite men adopted. Many of the customs of other nations were adopted by God’s chosen people. A character flaw is emerging in our beloved David.

God warned His people again and again not to copy the customs of other nations.

We are also not to copy the customs of the world. There are many opportunities where we will be tempted to act like unbelievers.

Knowing that even David who was a man after God’s own heart succumbed to a character flaw or lust of the flesh, should act as a great warning for us.

No one is above temptation. Jesus was tempted in every way, but He did not have a character flaw. He overcame every challenge we face, so that we could also. Not in our own strength, but by His blood.
