Day4
Mark15:21
“As they came out of the city, they stopped an African man named Simon, a native of Libya. He was passing by, just coming in from the countryside with his two sons, Alexander and Rufus, and the soldiers forced him to carry the heavy crossbeam for Jesus.”

A Burden to Carry
Jesus said “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me.” Matthew 11:28-29
Simon didn’t choose to take on that burden. He was chosen. He took up Jesus’ cross and followed Him.
Similarly, we are chosen by God to take up our cross and follow Him.
It is interesting to me that the one who carries our burden’s was given help to carry His.
It is an amazing picture of God’s mercy and compassion. Jesus did not ask for help. But help was given.
God loves us every bit as much as He loves His Son Jesus! He gives mercy even when we do not ask for it.
Can you think of a time when Mercy showed up for you without asking for it?
Jesus carried our burdens ahead of time that day on the road to Calvary.
God the Father was with Him every step of the way.
He sent His Holy Spirit to be with us.
All we need is right here, living inside us.
Is there someone crossing your path today who may need help carrying there burden?
Look for them and be ready.
