Day5
Week17
1Samuel 11
“The people said to Samuel, “Who said, ‘Shall Saul reign over us?’ Bring the men, that we may put them to death.” Saul said, “There will not be a man put to death this day. For today the Lord has worked deliverance in Israel.” Then Samuel said to the people, “Come, and let us go to Gilgal and renew the kingdom there.” All the people went to Gilgal and there they made Saul king before the Lord in Gilgal. And there they made sacrifices of peace offerings before the Lord. And there Saul and all Israel’s fighting men rejoiced greatly.”

Time
We all try to control time. It is futile! But still we do it
Saul chose to use the time that day to celebrate and honor God.
This is one of the few good decisions Saul made as king.
We seem to continually strive to make the most of the time we have by cramming in as much as we can living such busy lives there is no time left to enjoy it.
In my experience talking to many people, the number one challenge they face is not enough time.
How can this be?
The Bible tells us that there is a time for everything!
Could it be that we are allowing our will to interfere in our decisions and in that; we have things all out of wack?
What if we just stop
God designed us to walk in His rest.
Jesus said, ”Come to me all you who are weary and heavily burdened and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn of me, for I am meek and humble of heart.
A yoke is designed for work, not rest, right?
Are you confused?
An object that is in motion stays in motion and an object at rest stays at rest.
Newton’s First Law of Productivity
What if “His” rest doesn’t mean still.
What if “His” rest is simply walking alongside Jesus allowing Him to carry most of the load by trusting him.
Moving in step with Him, relaxing and seeking Him.
Walking by faith is walking in His rest. Moving as He leads making momentum.
Stay in motion, not commotion!
Stop seeking more time, more activities and more……. Just seek Him.
Action Step
How can you walk in “His ”rest today?
What or who are you trying to control?
Finances, relationships, health…,
Have a little talk with Jesus right now.
