All That You Need

Day5

Week 19

Hebrews 13

”Now may the God who brought us peace by raising from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ so that he would be the Great Shepherd of his flock; and by the power of the blood of the eternal covenant may he work perfection into every part of you giving you all that you need to fulfill your destiny. And may he express through you all that is excellent and pleasing to him through your life-union with Jesus the Anointed One who is to receive all glory forever! Amen! My dear brothers and sisters, I urge you to let your spirits flow through this message of love that I’ve written to you in these few words. I want you to know that our brother Timothy is free again and as soon as he arrives here we’ll come together to see you. We extend our greetings to all your leaders and all the holy believers. The Italian believers also send their greetings. Now may God’s wonderful grace be poured out upon you all! Amen!“

All That You Need

In his book, A Shepherd Looks At The 23rd Psalm, Phillip Keller poses the following questions:

But who is the Lord?

What is His character?

Does He have adequate credentials to be my Shepherd-my manager-my owner?

And if He does-how do I come under His control?

In what way do I become the object of His concern and diligent care?

All very good searching questions, right?

Our view of The Great Shepherd is often too small-too cramped-too provincial- too human.

And because it is, we feel unwilling to allow Him to have authority or control- much less outright ownership of our lives.

(Paraphrasing Pg9 Phillip Keller.A Shepherd Looks At The 23rd Psalm)

Jesus is The Prince of Peace!(Matthew 5:9, Isaiah 55:19)

He is the God of all comfort!(2 Corinthians 1:3-5)

Peace and comfort are the most sought after things on earth. Wouldn’t you agree?

Today’s scripture says that He, by the power of the blood covenant works perfection into every part of you giving you all that you need to fulfill your destiny.(paraphrased by me)

Yet, we continually seek out our own needs such as; peace and comfort, rather than letting Our Great Shepherd provide them for us.

”Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, who has loved us and has given us eternal consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.“

‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭MEV‬‬

”We sent Timothy, who is our brother and minister of God and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish and comfort you with regard to your faith,“

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ ‭MEV‬‬

Our, not just good, but Great Shepherd gives us all that we need.

When the sheep go to the shepherd, they are given all they need. Even when the wander He pursues them.

Let’s go to The Shepherd!
